Manchester is the capital for filming in the North and it's getting bigger. Footlights TV acting course is solely geared towards acting for TV. During the course you will discover the reality of seeing and hearing yourself on screen, creating a TV advert, audition techniques and tackling soap scripts.

At the end of the 6 week course you will be given a DVD of each workshop which provides REAL footage of yourself in character, of your peers and of discussions providing you with a learning tool to refer to forever.

The courses are taught by Managing Director Jo Fisher, Natalie Grady (Alra) and who has a string of theatre and TV credits plus other welll known tv actors such as Sarah Byrne (Meena Karib 'Shameless')  and local casting director Martin Gibbons.

Who We Are
We are Footlights Theatre.  In our sixth year we are the leading North West’s theatre schools. Our professional work is linked to industry including many aspects of television, radio and theatre with credits that include; The Lowry Theatre, The Library Theatre, BBC'S 'Waterloo Road' C4's 'Shameless' BBC Radio,  McDonalds,  Radio, Morrison’s, ITV, Iceland, KEY 103, Virgin Trains and more.

Footlights is a rapid growing company and is gaining recognition with some of the big casting agents in London and the Northwest.  Our latest project being for adults aged 18 and over.

What We Do
These workshops will be focused on YOU the actor,  how you can transfer your skills and ability in acting to the screen. This is not only a fantastic opportunity to help get your TV career started  but also for anybody who is wishing to go onto train at drama school, or simply gain confidence in seeing themselves onstage. We can help tailor our course to your needs, we can also plan your training path with you as we have years of experience in placing adults in education. We will ensure your learning is of the highest standard.

The workshops will enhance existing skills and equipping you with essential acting techniques, giving you a REAL insight into how to make it in to TV.

Who is it for?
It is ideal for those with little or no camera experience or if you simply want to brush up your skills as you will get plenty of opportunity to play a variety of scenes. You will be given constructive criticism and REAL honest feedback. Scenes will be blocked and directed as if it was a real shoot, where you will also be working and focusing on the voice and body.

Each member who attends these workshops will be considered to register on Footlights agency.  

You will also have the opportunity to get a fantastic deal on professional headshots, £85 for a contact sheet of 20.

Costs

A deposit of £50 will secure your place plus two more instalment s £25 on week 1 and week 4..

The full course is £99 for a 12 x 2.5 hour course
