Jo Fisher is the Managing Director of Footlights Theatre School & Academy Ltd. Jo has a varied past having become Manchester's first milkwoman at the age of 18 it was clear she was not going to take the easy road. She went on to run market stalls all over Mancehester before giving up her entrepreneurial spirit to rediscover her first love -acting.
Jo's passion for the stage began when she was very young although she didn't professionally train until her early twenties. She then went on to Manchester's prestigious Arden school of theatre to train as an actress. On graduating she was lucky enough to get work playing Lady Macbeth touring the Northwest, and also performing in Switzerland for FIFA delegates. Jo loves the theatre, film and performance and most all the kids! Her tireless efforts has taken Footlights from a very small school( 15 pupils) in 2005 to a network of schools in Greater Manchester with 4 franchisee/directors and 8 schools, she now loves that she combines her passion for the arts and business.
Jo has built up many many years of experience as a childrens theatre director, ( she was selected to direct a play for the common wealth games). She also has extensive teaching experience in colleges & universities as well as young offender institutes, schools, well being centres and many more. Jo also has televison and voice over experience.
Admitting that much of her time is taken up in the office these days Jo feels that the children being happy, encouraged and creative at the schools is at the heart of everything Footlights believes in.
Jo and all the team pride themselves on offering you a personal service, with an open door policy.
